Over 100 letters were found that Jack wrote to his family, mostly to his older sister Bess, his younger sister Grace, and his older brother Dean who was in the Army.  Another brother Bill was married and raising a family and both of Jack's parents and another sister, Madeline were deceased when Jack enlisted in the Navy.
